The difference

  • It is easily accessible by car or public transportation, and Shimonoseki station and Pukwan ferry terminal are also 15 minutes away by bus, so you can move freely.

Special features

  • It is located 1.2km (15 minutes on foot) at the port of Chosun telecom, and it is also the best place to enjoy the Kanmon fireworks festival of friendship held in collaboration with Shimonoseki city and Moji city in august every year. In october, an international cycling competition is held in neighboring Kitakyushu.
  • It is bordered by Kanmon bridge, the beginning and end of Honshu and Kyushu, which is 650m wide and the narrowest place in the Channel. The maximum speed of the current in the Kanmon strait is about 18 km per hour, similar to Uldolmok in Jindo island. You can experience swirls caused by torrents and the sound of currents like rocks crying. It is spectacular to see 25,000 ships pass in a year, 70 a day and three large ships pass in an hour.
  • The entrance to the Kanmon undersea tunnel, the world's first strait tunnel, opened in 1942, is 100 meters from its accommodation, a minute's walk.
    The Hinoyama ropeway, which opened in 1958 is 400 meters and a six-minute walk away.
  • It is also the site of the history of the Dannaura war (1185), a decisive battle that began in the Shogun era as Japan's hegemony was decided.
